The Jio Phone has a 2.4-inch display with QVGA (320 x 240) resolution. The display is of colour type instead of monochrome. The device comes with primary as well as secondary camera. The primary camera has a resolution of 2-megapixels, and the front-facing camera has a VGA (0.3MP) resolution. Both the cameras have fixed focus.
The Jio phone is the only feature phone to support 4G LTE and VoLTE. The device also supports Bluetooth for file transfer and accessory connectivity, NFC for payments, and an FM radio for entertainment. Of course, the device has dual-SIM connectivity.
The Jio Phone comes with a panic button, which can be used in case of emergencies. Pressing the panic button will alert the family or the concerned persons. For storage, the device comes with a microSD card slot. The media or songs stored in the memory can be heard by connecting headphone in the 3.5mm audio jack. The device also comes with a LED flashlight.
The Price of Jio Phone is Zero you just need to pay Rs. 1500 deposit, which is refundable after 3 Years. Jio also offering services like free voice calling, free SMS, Jio Apps like JioTV and JioMovies at Rs. 153 per month. This Jio plan also gets you ‘unlimited’ Internet data, with a daily high-speed data cap of 500MB. It supports other apps as well, including Facebook, though WhatsApp is not supported at the moment. The phone also supports 22 Indian languages, and voice commands. You can send messages, place calls, search the Web, and so on, using voice commands.
Jio Phone launch date and booking
The Jio Phone will be made available starting August 15 in a beta programme, and it will be up for pre-booking from August 24 onwards. Pre-orders can be made using the MyJio app or Jio offline stores. Customers who pre-book the phone will be eligible to purchase it from September onwards, on a first come first serve basis. Jio is targeting to have 5 million Jio Phones available every week.
